Clothing |
- It is advised that you send your child
in sturdy, well-fitting shoes with rubber soles.
- Clothing should allow for freedom of movement.
- We will do our best to prevent paint and
dirt stains on your child's clothing, but it is more realistic to expect
that these stains may happen.
- Do not send your child to school in expensive
or delicate clothing.
- We recommend that all jewelry be left at
home. Children enjoy sharing, and jewelry may become lost or
stolen.
School
Lunch Policy
We try to educate our students on the importance of a balanced
and nutritious diet.
- At lunch time, the children are asked to
eat all or most of their protein and fruit or vegetable first. They
are then allowed to have any dessert or treat that is included.
- We ask that you send foods that the children
can eat without adult help. Please cut fruit before packing.
- We do not have enough storage space in
our refrigerator for lunches. Please do not send food that requires
constant refrigeration before eating.
- We are not able to heat up foods at lunch
time.
- Please do not send gum, candy, sodas or
more than one small serving of a dessert.
- In the cooler months, uneaten lunch portions
will be sent home for your inspection. During hot weather it is necessary
to throw all uneaten food away because of spoilage and ants.
- Staff members observe and keep memos on
school lunches. They are looking for the following:
- Are there certain foods that your child
never seems to eat?
- Does he/she have enough or too much
lunch sent each day?
- Are lunches nutritionally balanced?
- Are there too many sweets being included?
- Is he/she bored with the same old thing?
- If a pattern develops, parents will be
notified.
